720p (1st) and 1080p (2nd) Airplane mode – ON, auto brightness, 350-1200 frequency range, conservative governor The sense resistor (for measuring the consumption) is 0.1ohm 1% tolerance so the value on the multimeter on the right hand side should be multiplied by 10 to get the reading in mA. The multimeter on the left is showing the battery voltage as seen by the phone (is tapping the sense resistor on the phone side). Original thread at XDA, Galaxy Nexus Q&A.

1939 Majestic 130 Restoration–Chassis Rebuild

The chassis is disassembled and re-capped. Both the paper caps and electrolytic cap were replaced with modern versions, along with resistors that were out of tolerance and crumbly rubber wiring. The original solder work was abominable. I’ve since redone most of the joints and used much less solder. Because of the poor soldering, the job took most of the day.

1940 Zenith 10-S-470 Console Radio

Here we have my newly completed restoration of a 1940 Zenith 10-S-470 console radio. This radio has undergone a total rebuild with all capacitors, out of tolerance resistors, replacement of necessary tubes, rewiring of the rotten wires, cleaning of all controls, dial belt and a replacement of the output transformer. I also included a wirewound resistor on the primary side of the transformer to lower the voltage in order to allow the transformer to operate at a cooler temperature. The 12 inch speaker now really ‘talks’….wow, what a sound. I regret that my video camera cannot fully capture the bass response. This is one of Zenith’s more interesting cabinet designs in my opinion—how neat it is that there is an alcove in the bottom of the case which acts as an acoustic shell. I hope you enjoy the short video. *The music heard playing on this radio may have content that is owned or licensed by EMI Music Publishing. I make no claim as to ownership of this music by myself or my heirs. Use of this video for any financial gain is strictly prohibited.

1950 FADA 790 AM/FM Bakelite tube table radio

There used to be an electronics store in Huntsville called WW Electronics, it was one of the cities oldest electronics stores. I used to purchase all of my capacitors, and resistors at this store. I purchased a lot of tubes, and parts there as well. Me an the owner Bill got to be quite good friends. I often consulted Bill when I would run into something that had me stumped, many times he would offer some useful information to help me along my way. I often brought in radio’s I had completed to show him. One afternoon I came in to buy some supplies, bill carried me to the back store room, said he had something for me, well it was this radio. It was dingy, discolored, aged, and did not work, I took it home and placed it on the “In coming” shelf. In honor of Bill, from WW Electronics Clinton St. Huntsville Alabama, this radio received a good cleaning, and a full electronic restoration. All capacitors were replaced, as well as any out of tolerance resistors, a test of all tubes, replacing marginal, or bad tubes, and an alignment, here is your finished product. This is a nice example of a 1950 Fada Model 790 Bakelite table radio, it’s tube complement is as follows: (3)6BA6, 12AT7, 6BE6, 6AT6, 6AL5, 25Z6GT, 25LGGT, and Ballast tube #117.24 I hope you enjoy, and thanks for visiting!!!!
